The Academy Returns to Its Roots

 

In 1936, Professors Charles L. Jamison of the University of Michigan and William N. Mitchell of the University of Chicago, sent letters to teachers of management courses inviting them to a meeting at the Quadrangle Club, University of Chicago, to discuss the formation of an organization of educators to advance the philosophy of management. Thus, , along with an annual tradition of exploring the organization's purpose and presenting and discussing scholarly papers.

 

The Academy returns to its roots in Chicago, Illinois to mark the August 10-14. This Special Edition of the offers meeting information ranging from session highlights to technology resources, dining and entertainment options in and around Chicago, as well as exciting news about our upcoming Specialized Conference in Tel Aviv, Israel. This section contains important onsite information to help you make the most of your Annual Meeting experience. If you have any questions, please contact the .

REGISTRATION HOURS

AOM staff will be available in the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Grand Ballroom Foyer to assist you with check-in or with any other questions.

Saturday-Tuesday, August 11-14 from 8:00AM-5:00PM

 

AOM TECHNOLOGY CENTERS

Print your badge, access Wi-Fi on your device or computer provided by AOM, or simply plug in beginning Thursday, August 9 at 5:00PM through Tuesday, August 14 at 3:00PM. Access the for locations and additional information.

 

EXPRESS CHECK-IN KIOSKS

As a convenience to pre-registered attendees, the Academy of Management will provide touch-screen around the clock beginning Thursday, August 9 at 5:00PM through Tuesday, August 14 at 3:00PM so attendees can print their name badges, collect their programs and tote bags, and begin attending sessions.

AOM RESOURCE CENTER

Located directly outside the Exhibit Hall, the is your one-stop shop for navigating the Annual Meeting with representation from Membership, Publications, Program, Housing, Placement Services, General Information and Technology@AOM. All of your questions can be answered in one convenient location. The AOM Resource Center will be available Friday, August 10, 7:30AM-5PM and Saturday-Tuesday, August 11-14, 8AM-5PM.

VALID TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

If traveling to the Annual Meeting from outside of the United States, you are required to show a valid passport. Registrants without appropriate identification and travel documents, including passports and visas when applicable, may not be allowed to travel. You may even be retained at border or customs checkpoints by government authorities. Please remember to check with government agencies to determine visa and passport requirements, as well as clarify travel tariffs and taxes that may be required by government agencies when entering or leaving the United States.

EXHIBIT HALL HIGHLIGHTS

  • Be one of the first 200 attendees to visit the Exhibit Hall Saturday, Sunday, or Monday and receive a swag bag sponsored by the 2018 exhibitors.
  • Come relax and mingle with the exhibitors during dedicated exhibit hours on Sunday, 10:30AM-12:30PM.
