    Posted 03-01-2016 03:47

    Dear colleagues

I am looking for a good strategy simulation game for an intensive 4-day executive MBA class. The game currently in use is a bit too detailed and many decisions are at factory level. Looking for strategic management game more suited for senior executives. Thanks.

I use a simulation from a company from Finland, CESIM.

They have several simulations. My favorite is Global Challenge, where they are competing in the cell phone industry world-wide. They have to develop a strategy and implement it in terms of marketing, production, logistics, finance, R&D, etc.

Strategy Dynamics Ltd provides much simpler strategy games, used among other institutions at London Business School and Wharton - see sdgamesonline.com. I must declare an interest in these.

I have used Micromatic for many years (www.oaktreesim.com) in our undergraduate Capstone class. It involves Marketing, Production, and Finance decisions. It is detailed but there is an option to limit some options such as the number of regions (2 rather than 3), technological improvements, and sales reps. It also allows for an international market (Europe or China) although you would have to opt for all 3 regions then. Let me know if you have any questions?

The most impressive MBA/executive level simulation I have seen is the 21st Century Car Challenge

    Hello All!
I've been reading the discussion regarding strategy sims and would like to ask the community for their suggestions for simulations in the areas of OB, Ethics, and Leadership. I have plans to create some internet-driven courses and would like to include a workable simulation in each. Thanks in advance.

I have had good results with the Harvard simulations that I have used (Everest, Change Management, Decision Making) and I find the cost reasonable for students.
