Can anyone help me locate academic (or semi-academic) papers in the area of green construction?

Please reply just to me and save the list from clutter.

Thanks,
Andy

I do not think of this as clutter. I appreciate that the ONE list exposes me to topics/materials I might not come across otherwise. I can always delete postings that I am not interested in. Thanks, everyone, for sharing as you do. --Katherine

I agree with Katherine that leaving the questions posed to the listserv as open for all to repond to does not cause clutter. Instead it is an opportunity to find more information quicker than we might on our own. Its the spam from penny stocks and now hidden ads for pharmaceutical products that is the real clutter.

Andy,
While I know its not academic, and many of you out there already know about this, ... the U. S. Green Building Council has many resources regarding Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), power point slides introducing the topic of green buildings 101, emerging green builders chapters for students, rating systems for green schools, and resources including green building publications.

I'm a little involved in this work, peripherally. One interesting element
is that architects and designers have largely taken the lead with USGBC, so
that the contractor's/constructor's role in green building is emerging more
slowly.

Matt Syal here at Michigan State is doing some work on it, as are people at
University of Pittsburgh's School of Engineering.

Hello Andy,

If you are also exploring non-U.S. / developing country models of sustainable habitats, you may find The Energy and Resources Institute's (TERI) green building initiative of some interest. TERI has a large campus in the outskirts of New Delhi, India, which has been developed using new and clean technologies. It serves as a good model of sustainable habitat.

My copy of the book: CLIENTS DRIVING CONSTRUCTION INNOVATION was just
returned.

As I mentioned before, my chapter in this is about the cost of
tendering. I allude to some triple bottom line issues, but not
necessarily green contruction.

However, there are:
- several papers in the Sustainability section.
- a number of entries in the index about Ecoolgically Sustainable
Development and others under ESD
- quite a few entries about Sustainability

The book can be obtained from http://www.construction-innovation.info

There is also a conference proceeding with more papers that were not
selected for publication in the book
