The Conflict Management (CM) Division invites creative proposals for Professional Development Workshops (PDWs) for the 2020 Academy of Management conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. All CM PDWs will be scheduled from 8 am to 8pm on both Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, 2020.
PDWs are an opportunity to educate, discuss, interact, and explore various aspects of professional development that benefit doctoral students, junior faculty, senior faculty, and professionals on aspects of teaching, research, practice related to conflict management, negotiation, publishing, use of exercises, classroom management, and so on. PDWs are an opportunity to engage in cutting edge ideas, share expertise and best practices, and to create a forum for thought-provoking discussions. PDW sessions can address any issue of concern to CM scholars or practitioners–or both.
Your proposed PDW should provide, in both its content and its delivery, an intellectually stimulating experience. PDWs usually vary in length from 2 to 8 hours, and they are delivered in a variety of formats, such as roundtables, panel discussions, research incubators, town hall meetings, or debates.
We encourage (but do not require) you to submit proposals that can be co-sponsored with other divisions and that address the conference theme, 20/20: Broadening Our Sight. More information on the conference theme can be found at the Academy of Management annual meeting website:
