    Dear colleagues,

Please see below for an announcement from Deb Cai.

Call for Scholarly Program Submissions and Reviewers: Conflict Management Division

The Conflict Management (CM) Division invites professional development workshop (PDW), symposium, and paper submissions for the 81st Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management.

The Annual Meeting will be held virtually from July 30 to August 3, 2021. You can submit through the AOM Submission Center until it closes on Tuesday, 12 January 2021 at 5:00 PM ET (NY Time).

Our Domain: The CM division welcomes submissions on a wide variety of topics including team interactions, intercultural relations, organizational diversity, labor relations, workplace disputes, community conflict, and public policy development. We focus on the nature and management of conflicts at the individual, group, organizational, inter-organizational and societal level, including power processes, influence, coalitions, coercion, deterrence, and persuasion; bargaining and negotiation, negotiator characteristics and behaviors; collaboration and competition; third party interventions (such as facilitation, arbitration, mediation); distributive and procedural justice and dispute resolution procedures. If this describes your research, we hope to get your paper!

The Conference Theme: This year's conference theme is "Bringing the Manager Back in Management" This theme is perfect for those of us who study, teach, train, and write about conflict management. How is it that we manage conflicts? What can we help others manage them effectively? Note: if your submission does not directly address this, but you are interested in developing an exciting and thought-provoking plenary session around the theme, please contact the program chair (Deborah Cai, cmaom@temple.edu) with your ideas.

Reviewing for CM: We will need your help as a reviewer to keep this tradition alive-and to help us identify our best submissions. Please sign up to review.

CM Division Awards: The CM Division will award: (a) Best Student Paper, (b) Best Paper: Conflict in Context, (c) Best New Directions Paper, (d) Best Empirical or Theoretical Paper. Virtual format for 2021: AOM 2021 will be virtual, with about 75% of the sessions expected to be live this year. PDWs will take place throughout the conference. Presenters will be asked their time zone preferences once their submissions are accepted. Go here for more information about submission deadlines and the 2021 AOM conference.

We look forward to your contribution to our division! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Program Chair, Deborah Cai (cmaom@temple.edu) or the PDW chair, Pri Shah (pshah@umn.edu).
