    Announcement of Senior Scholar Position in Analytics/AI

    The Department of Information and Operations Management (INFO) in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University seeks to add a tenured senior scholar with an Analytics/Artificial Intelligence research focus beginning in fall 2021. The position is preferred at the rank of Full Professor but appointment at the advanced Associate Professor level can be considered. Candidates with exceptional credentials may be considered for an appointment as endowed chair.

     

    Successful candidates will pursue and promote a research agenda in Analytics with specific focus on artificial intelligence/ML leading to high quality publications in premier journals; provide intellectual leadership for junior faculty and doctoral students; play a pivotal role in extending the national reputation of the department

    through scholarship and service; and teach courses across our undergraduate and graduate programs. Applicants for this position should possess an earned doctorate in business, engineering, or a related field. Accomplished scholars in operations management, information systems, computer science, electrical engineering, operations research, or statistics with a strong record of scholarly contributions in Analytics are encouraged to apply. Additionally, applicants should be able to demonstrate an interest in and ability to collaborate with faculty from other disciplines within the business school. Candidates will be expected to be intellectual leaders in their discipline with a presence in the international research community.

     

    The INFO Department has 16 tenured/tenure-track and 11 clinical faculty, 8 lecturers, 440 undergraduate majors, 170 MS-MIS students, and 10 doctoral students. Many faculty hold editorships of major journals and prominent leadership positions in the academy.

     

    The Mays Business School recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and offers an excellent research environment and modern facilities in both College Station and downtown Houston. Its undergraduate, MBA, and executive programs are rated by U.S. News and World Report and Forbes as top-25 public business programs

Besides having a large and increasingly growing endowment, the Center for Executive Development provides a robust source of revenue to support research (including chairs and professorships) and other initiatives, such as a refresh and upcoming expansion of the building in which the college is housed. The college also supports research through several different internal grant programs, research subject pools, and a state-of-the-art research laboratory.

     

    The College Station-Bryan metro area has a population of 250,000, a low cost of living (including no state income taxes), excellent schools, very low crime, and excellent health care. The College Station airport is served by United and American Airlines. College Station is a 1.5 hour drive to Houston, 2 hours to Austin, and 3 hours

    to Dallas-Fort Worth.
