Along with two of my colleagues, I recently edited a Handbook of Digital Innovation that might be of interest to scholars working in the areas of innovation, platforms/ecosystems, strategy and entrepreneurship. The Handbook is aimed at building a transdisciplinary understanding of digital innovation, and as such brings together ideas, concepts and perspectives from diverse disciplines/fields including business, engineering, economics, science and policy. Here is a link to the book site: https://www.e-elgar.com/shop/usd/handbook-of-digital-innovation-9781788119979.html.
A partial list of contributors (in no particular order): Ann Majchrzak, Joel Cutcher-Gershenfeld, Terri Griffith, John Leslie King, Paul Courant, Erkko Autio, Rob Kulathinal, Kenneth A. Loparo, Varun Grover, Arvind Malhotra, Sudhir Kumar, Sirkka Jarvenpaa, Jeff Nickerson, Ola Henfridsson, M. Lynne Markus, Annabelle Gawer, Llewellyn Thomas, Nick Berente, Jonathan Grudin, Jannis Kallinikos.
We hope the ideas and insights offered in this Handbook would broaden the horizon of inquiry on digital innovation, and inspire new empirical/conceptual research that help us understand the nature, process and consequences of digital innovation-both as a holistic system that spans individual, firm and industry levels as well as a broader societal phenomenon.
Best wishes,
