    Dear friends and colleagues,

     

    We are seeking nominations for the 2020 IM Division FIU Emerging Scholar Award, and look forward to receiving your nominations by the deadline of 1st April 2020. Please see below for the description of the award and information about the nomination process.

     

    The past winners of the IM Division FIU Emerging Scholar Award are:

    2016: Ilya Cuypers (Singapore Management University) and Exequiel Hernandez (University of Pennsylvania)

    2017: Elena Kulchina (Duke University)

    2018: Sinziana Dorobantu (New York University) and Prithwiraj Choudhury (Harvard University)

    2019: Stephanie Wang (Indiana University)

    Call for Nominations for the 2020 IM Division FIU Emerging Scholar Award

     

    The IM Division FIU Emerging Scholar Award recognizes outstanding contribution to international management scholarship by junior scholars. The winner is honored at the IM Division business meeting and presented with a plaque.

     

    Eligibility Criteria

    •    Candidates must be nominated by others; no self-nominations are considered.

    •    Nominees must have an interest in, and have contributed to, international management scholarship.

    •    Nominees must have completed their PhD within eight (8) years of the time of nomination.

    •    Nominees must be members of the IM Division.

     

    Selection Criteria

    Candidates are evaluated based on the following criteria:

             Significant impact on research on international management (as described in the domain of the international management division) 

             Outstanding research productivity as shown, for example, by publications (especially in top journals), citations, and research awards

             Research independence as shown, for example, by being the sole or leading author in published research or joint papers that only include junior scholars

     

    Nomination and Evaluation Process

    •    Nomination letter(s) should be e-mailed to the Professional Achievement Awards Committee Chair (e.rose@leeds.ac.uk) with the subject heading of "IM Division FIU Emerging Scholar Award", no later than 1st April 2020.

    •    Nomination letter(s) (three pages maximum) should provide a rationale of how the nominee meets the eligibility and selection criteria. The nominee's curriculum vitae should be appended to the letter.

    •    The IM Division Professional Achievement Awards Committee will review all nominations and may select a winner. In keeping with the highest standards, a winner may not be selected every year.

    •    The award will be announced and presented to the winner at the IM Division business meeting at the 2020 AOM annual meeting. The winner's attendance at the annual meeting is required.
