Ph.D. in Management at Tilburg University

The Department of Management, Tilburg University (the Netherlands) is inviting applications for Ph.D. positions in Organization & Strategy, Supply Chain Management, and Information Management starting in September 2020.

Tilburg University's Ph.D. program is among the most selective in Europe. It offers a full-fledged graduate program, comparable to those in the U.S. Coursework and dissertation together sum up to a four-year curriculum, divided into the 1-year Research Master program (mostly coursework) and the 3-year Ph.D. program (mostly dissertation work).

    Coursework

Before embarking on their Ph.D., our students first enter a 2-year (students with a Bachelor diploma) or 1-year (students with a Masters diploma) Research Master program that prepares them for doing research in Management. This program offers one of the most complete sets of fundamental and advanced courses anywhere in Europe as preparation for a Ph.D., and is taught by professors who are top-notch researchers.

    Doctoral Dissertation

Students who have successfully completed their Research Master can transfer to Ph.D. status. The dissertation phase typically takes three to four years to complete. Our students work within one of the following fields: Organization & Strategy, Supply Chain Management, and Information Management.

    Financial support

There is no tuition for the Ph.D. years. All candidates admitted to the Ph.D. program will become university employees who receive cumulatively over 3 years a gross salary of about €85,000 and, in addition, even pension rights. The starting salary is approximately €2,400 gross per month. This salary increases yearly to reach approximately €3,000 gross per month in the final year of the Ph.D. program.
