    Dear all,

My book, 'Crony Capitalism in US Health Care: Anatomy of a Dysfunctional System' by Routledge has just come out and you may find that it has many interesting ideas and insights. The book covers US health care system in-depth. The chief argument is that crony capitalism is the root cause of US health care system dysfunction and that the failure of US health care system could be attributed to a great extent to the immense influence of politicians and powerful system insiders (health insurers, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, physicians, and medical device makers). The slow accretion of protection arrangements organized by these powerful insiders has put brakes on the ability of the federal and state governments and the American society to reform the system. The US health care industry employs the largest numbers of lobbyists and spends the most on lobbying among all 13 US industrial sectors. The government regulatory agencies at both federal and state levels are "captured" by the health industry interest groups meaning that the regulatory agencies respond to the interests of the industry not of the citizens.  The US health care system is about a $4 trillion problem annually and I believe that, by fixing it, at least a trillion dollars could be saved annually. I offer suggestions to remedy the US health care system dysfunction.

    Thanks and kind regards,
