Greetings, HCM Division!  Join us for our PDW:

HOW TO USE AND PUBLISH WITH THEORY IN HEALTH CARE RESEARCH
Live synchronous session on Saturday August 8th @ 10:15 AM
    (Connection information to follow)

This PDW will provide participants with the awareness of best practices when using and publishing with theory for different research questions and health care journals.  Participants will engage in discussion around three panels: 1) Using and Publishing with Theory in Health Management and Policy Journals, 2) Using and Publishing with Theory in Clinical and Health Services Research Journals, and 3) Using and Publishing with Theory in Management journals

    Expert Panelists:

Tom D'Aunno, Professor, Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, NYU
Tim Hoff, Professor of Management, Healthcare Systems, and Health Policy, D'Amore-McKim School of Business, School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, Northeastern University
Sara Singer, Professor of Medicine, School of Medicine, Professor of Organizational Behavior (courtesy), Business School, Stanford University

These different journal types have different requirements and formulas for how theory can be applied to inform and strengthen research, as well as how to represent theory within the empirical article itself.  Therefore, this session will allow participants to gain better understanding of these differences.  It will also reveal how well participant's own theory-driven research may align with one or another type of publishing outlet, further affording a wider range of potential dissemination outlets.

We hope to see you there!
