NEW OPPORTUNITIES

DEI Junior Faculty Consortium

We are seeking nominations for the 2023 AOM Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Junior Faculty Consortium. Self-nominations are welcome.

The Junior Faculty Consortium will include a diverse mix of speaker panels and participative roundtable discussions designed to provide junior faculty with a realistic, open, and honest understanding of the tenure-track process, including: publishing diversity research; tips and takes on having impact in areas such as teaching/mentorship, research, media, and public policy; and navigating work-life balance.

Participants will also have the opportunity for more personalized connections and feedback through a mentor-match to be held after the consortium (or at another mutually agreed upon time), in which participants are paired with a more senior scholar based on the participant's research interests.

The event will be held in-person in Boston. Session Date/Time: Saturday, August 5th - 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM ET

We expect an enrollment of about 25 junior faculty, and the application deadline is July 1, 2023.

Confirmed panelists include: Quinetta Roberson, Jenny Hoobler, Allison Pullen, Eddy Ng, Smriti Anand, Erica Foldy, Tina Opie, Shannon Taylor, Wendy Casper, Jamie Ladge, Mikki Hebl and Ruchi Sinha.

The following information must be provided by interested faculty:

·       A CV in PDF format. Please clearly indicate your name when naming the file.

·       A one-page statement explaining your interest in attending the consortium in PDF format. Please clearly indicate your name when naming the file.

DEI Doctoral Student Mentor-match Nominations

We are seeking nominations for the 2023 AOM Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Doctoral Student Mentor-match. Self-nominations are welcome.

Each doctoral student will be matched with a mentor – a more senior scholar – based on the student's research interests. The meeting between the student and the mentor can happen via one-on-one zoom meeting or over a coffee during AOM 2023.

We expect to register about 20 doctoral students in the mentor-match, and the application deadline will be July 1, 2023.

The mentor-match is designed for students who are in the final years of their doctoral program (i.e., students who have made significant progress on their dissertation/thesis research, and/or students who are nearing the academic job market). Priority will be given to students who have made the most progress toward completing their Ph.D. program, but who have not yet defended their dissertations.

The following information must be provided by interested students:

·       A one-page CV in PDF format. Please clearly indicate your name when naming the file.
·       A one-page brief statement explaining your interest in attending the mentor-match in PDF format. Please clearly indicate your name when naming the file.

·       To help us plan the session, please indicate whether you plan on attending virtually or in-person.

Send nominations to: Dr. Brent J. Lyons (blyons@schulich.yorku.ca) and Dr. Mukta Kulkarni (mkulkarni@iimb.ac.in)

We look forward to welcoming you to the DEI Doctoral student mentor-match!

Brent J. Lyons and Mukta Kulkarni

DEI Job Market Newsletter - Call for Submissions!

For doctoral students on the job market, we invite you to submit your bio and photo (optional) for the job market newsletter. Please submit to the DEI Job Market Submission Form by July 7. The job market newsletter will be distributed to the DEI, HR, and OB division communities on Connect@AOM prior to the AOM Annual Meeting. This will be the 7th year that we’ve offered this newsletter, and we have received an overwhelmingly positive response in the past. A number of graduating candidates have received requests for interviews as a result of this extra visibility! For questions, please email Darryl Rice with the subject line: DEI job market newsletter.
