  • 1.  CM Division Nominations

    Posted 02-19-2025 10:53

    Hello CM Division Members,

The CM Division is looking for enthusiastic members interested in serving in leadership roles for the division. We are looking for nominations for our 5-year Division Chair track and our 2-year Representatives at large. Below is a description of both roles. The nominating periods ends on FRI 2/28. Nominations are simple and can be done using the survey monkey link below. Feel free to nominate multiple candidates you think would be good these roles. Of course. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of our division, create new and innovative programing for our members, and most importantly connect with our members across the globe.

On a personal note, my 5-years working in the CM Division have been wonderful. I've learned so much about the Division, the larger structure of AOM, and had firsthand exposure to all the interesting research you are working on as program chair. Most importantly, I got to know so many of you personally and truly appreciate the unique, supportive community we have formed. I am grateful to have an opportunity to serve the division that I first joined as a graduate student years ago. Indeed, this is a career highlight that I hope all of you get to experience.

Thank you for nominating our future leaders!

    Division Program Chair Elect

    5 Year Term (8/15/2025 - 8/14/2030)

The person elected to this position is committing to the five-year division leadership track. The track begins with the Program Chair-Elect position in 2025-26 (for the 2026 PDW programs). In 2026, the person in this position automatically advances to the next position, Program Chair. Then in 2027, this person automatically advances to Division Chair-Elect, then to Division Chair in 2028, and then finally to Past Division Chair in 2029.The Program Chair-Elect is responsible for the overall Professional Development Workshop (PDW) program at the Academy meetings. The Program Chair is responsible for their division's scholarly program at the Academy Meeting. The Division Chair-Elect is responsible for organizing the major social gathering of the division at the Academy Meeting. The Division Chair is responsible for running meetings, managing finances, and representing the division within the Academy. The Past Division Chair runs the elections. Candidates should provide a paragraph introducing themselves, describing their involvement in the division and highlighting their plans for the future if elected.

    Division Representatives-at-Large

    2 Year Term (8/15/2025 - 8/14/2027)

Two Reps-at- Large are elected each year to serve a two-year term (making four Reps-at-Large at any one time). During their first year, Reps work with the Program Chair-Elect to organize the division's Professional Development Workshops (PDW) at the Academy of Management Meetings, typically running one division-sponsored PDW each. During their second year, Reps provide support for the division by working on special projects (e.g., coordinating member services) that vary from year to year. Reps coordinate our Scholars-in-Residence program and work closely to connect our members with our Scholars through creative programming. While the primary tasks for Reps-at-Large are listed above, they will also work on other tasks to support the Division and its membership. Candidates should provide a paragraph introducing themselves, describing their involvement in the division and highlighting their plans for the future if elected.
