  • 1.  interactive exercises to use in training sessions on how to develop collaborators

    Posted 11-28-2016 12:54

    Dear colleagues

I am seeking suggestions on interactive exercises, short case studies and video/movie clips to use in a training course with young managers.

The main topic to address in this 1-day session is how they, as leaders, can help their collaborators develop themselves and their careers.

If others are interested I can compile a list of resources.

    Many thanks in advance!

I would love to see the final list, please and thanks.

Personally, I would suggest a short clip on mindfulness practices and a short guided meditation to enhance focus/reduce stress.

    Best,
    Ellen

Here is an article that may be helpful. I'd love to get a roll up of the responses also. Thanks, Deirdre

    Dear Silvia,

I like the Stanford Leadership in Focus video cases (http://www.leadershipinfocus.net/presentations/video-cases/). I've used the following three video cases in a training and development course, but there are a lot of cases to choose from.

Developing Leaders Performance Management, Karen Zaderej, Former VP, Johnson & Johnson
Becoming a Leader Learning from a Mistake, Lisa Dawe, Division VP, DaVita
Becoming a Leader Castaway Clinic, Lisa Dawe, Division VP, DaVita

    Best,
    Jodi

    Hi Silvia,
I have found the 'River of life' exercise to be a good starting point in mapping their major life changes and career moves and get the participants started in engaging on the topic.
A video which may be relevant for those who are starting off on their careers is the one by Mr.Nitin Paranjape ex-CEO HUL.

Would be interested in the list!
