    Dear Listmembers,

I am trying to locate a list (or lists) of classic books in Organizational Behavior. (I am not looking for an anthology of classic readings but a list of books.)

Please respond to my email address (ajaymehra1@gmail.com). I will post a compilation of what I receive to this Listserv for others' use.

    Thanks very much.

    Ajay,

There are many that would form my list but I have to form it first! For starters, I was greatly inspired by Henry Mintzberg's The nature of managerial work.  I sort of used it as a guidebook when I first started teaching OB. It was a citation classic as well.

    Hi Ajay,

This is an interesting idea. I took a course with John Kotter many years ago in which we had to read a classic book every week. The list was compiled with an informal poll like this one. I have attached here the list.

    cheers!

I always liked Complex Organizations by Charles Perrow. It was one of the first books I read in graduate school and I still use it to inform what I teach in org theory today.
