Mentors Needed: HCM Mentoring Program

Dear Members of the HCM Division,

Thank you to everyone who has agreed to participate in the Inaugural HCM Mentoring Program. However, to ensure the success of the program, we need your help! At present we have more mentees than mentors registered and anticipate that additional mentees may sign-up for the program during the AOM conference.

Therefore, we need at least 9-10 more individuals to register as mentors to serve as a source of information, guidance and community building. Again, the goal of this program is to create opportunities to communicate and exchange thoughts with other scholars from other schools and countries. This program will match mentees with a mentor based on shared research interests and professional advancement.

Sign up as a mentor by completing the following survey as soon as possible: forms.office.com/r/4xbN8uzz8H

Mentees and mentors will be matched prior to the start of the 2021 AOM Annual Meeting. We suggest that mentors connect with mentees for a minimum of two 30-minute sessions via video or phone over the next academic year. The first of these sessions may occur either:

    1. During one of AOM scheduled Senior Scholar Coffee Chats: Friday, July 30 from 1:30 - 3:00 pm ET; or Saturday, July 31 from 12:30-2:30 pm ET. This is a designated Zoom space where mentees and mentors can join and enter their own breakout room; or
    2. At a time that is mutually convenient to both of your schedules.

Emails will be sent in the coming days introducing mentees to their mentors. It is our hope that this program creates a much-needed space for HCM members to build meaningful connections around the topic areas that interest them the most.
