Position Description

The Department of Public Health Policy and Management at the School of Global Public Health (GPH), New York University, is seeking applications for two 2-year term faculty positions, with one at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, and the other at the rank of Visiting Associate Professor. Candidates are expected to have a doctoral degree in health policy, heath management, or related disciplines; teaching experience in health policy or management; and experience advising and mentoring graduate students.

The Department of Public Health Policy and Management offers an MPH degree with concentrations in Public Health Policy and Public Health Management. We also offer a concentration in Public Health Policy and Management within the GPH PhD program in Public Health.  In addition, we offer public health policy and management courses and participate in a new DrPH program that begins this fall.

The Department currently has full-time faculty in health policy, management, health economics, and health law. We are interested in recruiting two outstanding faculty members who can teach MPH core public health policy and management courses, health care policy, and engage in student advisement. There also may be opportunities to teach DrPH/PhD courses. Other particularly important responsibilities of this position involve the ability to work with graduate students and with practice/experience sites to develop and secure internship opportunities.
 
Qualifications

Candidates at the Visiting Assistant Professor level should be scholars with evidence of outstanding scholarship, teaching, and practice experience. Candidates at the Visiting Associate Professor level should be early to mid-career scholars with an existing body of outstanding scholarship, teaching, and practice experience. A successful candidate will be able to collaborate with existing faculty in the Department and at GPH to further develop and improve our academic programs. The position is for a 2-year term, and it could be a 9-month or 12-month appointment.

Both positions are contingent upon budgetary approval.
