    Dear Colleagues, 

    We hope that you will join us for the 2020 OTHC Conference to be held at The Ohio State University on May 20-22 in Columbus, OH. 

    The conference will begin with a welcome reception on Wednesday, May 20th (6-8 pm), and continue with a mix of paper presentations, panel discussions, poster exploration, and networking opportunities on Thursday and Friday, May 21st and 22nd.

    The complete agenda will be available on the OTHC website at http://www.ot-hc.org/2020-conference-agenda.html as it is finalized. Additionally, important information for those who wish to attend and present their research is below.

    1. Conference Registration
      To register for the 2020 OTHC conference, please click here or go to this link: http://www.ot-hc.org/registration.html. Registration is limited to 50 participants, so please register early! There is no registration fee; however, conference attendees are responsible for their hotel and travel expenses. 
    2. Hotel Reservations

      The Blackwell Inn is offering conference attendees a discounted rate of $158 + tax. To reserve a room at the hotel:
    • Go to theblackwell.com; select 'BOOK NOW', and enter code OTHC52020
    • Call the hotel at (614) 247-4000 and ask to book as part of the Organizational Theory in Health Care Group. 

           Please book your room as soon as you can – rooms will be released on April 20, 2020. There is limited capacity due to other events happening         in Columbus during the conference.

    1. Abstract submission for research presentations

      We invite abstracts from health care organization researchers, including faculty and advanced doctoral candidates. Submissions on all topics are welcome. Up to five abstracts will be chosen for podium presentation based on peer review, with preference given to those that focus on research that directly integrates and contributes to organizational theory. The related paper must be completed by the deadline to permit distribution to attendees prior to the conference. Papers that are not selected for podium presentation will be considered for poster presentation, another key part of the conference. Research using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods are welcome. Theory development papers are also welcome (these should be original contributions to theory and not review articles).

    If you would like to present your research at the conference, please submit an abstract for your work to othcassociation@gmail.com. Abstracts are due on Wednesday, March 4 at 9pm ET.

    Abstract may be up to two pages double-spaced, 12-point font, and should include the following sections.

    • For Empirical Papers: Title of abstract; Author names/affiliations/titles; Presenting author, email, and phone number; Study objectives; Hypotheses/ theory/ conceptual model/ research questions; Study design; Data sources; Measures; Methods; Results; Conclusions; Implications for policy or practice, or both; Implications for theory.
    • For Theoretical Papers: Title of abstract; Author names/affiliations/titles; Presenting author, email, and phone number; Problem to be addressed; Purpose of the conceptual approach; Logic and structure of the conceptual approach; Potential hypotheses; What is new in the conceptual approach; Implications for Research and, potentially for practice.

    For either type of abstract, please include at the end:

    • A statement describing the state of completeness of the work upon which the abstract is based, and
    • Whether you wish your abstract to be considered for podium and/or poster presentation.

    Key Dates for Conference Abstracts and Papers

    • Abstracts Due: Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 9PM ET            
    • Authors Notified of Selection: By the end of March via email
    • Complete Papers Due: Monday, May 4, 2020 at 12PM ET
    • Papers Emailed to Conference Registrants: Wednesday, May 6, 2020
