    Monday, Monday…

We have come to the first of the live paper sessions and symposia days of the Academy. In a typical year you may find it difficult to choose which session to go to. Don't worry, we have it all laid out for you in the virtual format! Please join us for these exciting sessions Monday, 8/10. All times are Eastern Daylight Time (i.e., New York). Don't forget that there are many asynchronous paper sessions you can go to on your own time, and these sessions will be available to attendees until the end of the month. So you don't have to miss a thing!

10:45am-11:45am: HCM Best Papers, Session 1.

    • First of two sessions featuring award-winning and top-rated HCM papers. (The second HCM Best Papers session will be held on Tuesday.)

12:00pm-1:30pm: Applying Mixed Methods in HCM Research: Principles and Procedures.

    • The workshop is designed for novice and seasoned researchers seeking to apply mixed methods to dissertation and funded research projects. Prior experience with mixed methods is not necessary.

2:00pm- 3:30pm: Understanding Micro-Macro Connections in Organization Theory: The Value of Healthcare Settings? (HCM Showcase Symposium)

    • Panelists (Thomas D'Aunno, Elizabeth Goodrick, Ann Langley, Davide Nicolini, and Trish Reay) who hold expertise in developing theory about processes of organizational change based on empirical studies in healthcare settings will discuss the advantages (and disadvantages) of such settings in understanding macro- and micro- (and meso-) connections in organizations and systems.

    Enjoy!

    Tim Vogus (Division Chair)
    Sara Singer (Division Chair-Elect)
    Brian Hilligoss (Program Chair)
    Ria Hearld (PDW Chair)
    Tia Gilmartin (Past Division Chair)

Some Suggestions for using the new online program and virtual meeting platform:

    • The AOM Quick Start Guide is a handy tool for getting started. It has instructions not only for logging in, creating a profile, and updating your password, but also for engaging others in conversations via the virtual platform, giving feedback to session presenters, and creating "Birds of a Feather" meeting rooms to interact with other conference attendees.
    • You can view the entire AOM 2020 Program
    • Rather than "View Full Agenda" (i.e., all sessions across all divisions), we recommend using the pull-down search menu on the top right to filter your search. If you select HCM under "Sponsors" in that search pull-down list, you'll see all our sessions. We hope you will join for as many of them as possible!
    • See the AOM Quick Start Guide for instructions on adding sessions to your "Agenda."
    • For live sessions, there will be a countdown to the start time of the live session. Once the countdown has completed, there will be a link to take you to join the session. For asynchronous sessions, there will be a recording of the session that you can view any time you would like.
