    Colleagues,
The HCM Division and its Teaching Committee invite you to join us for this year's virtual version of the HCM Teaching Incubator: Becoming More Effective Instructors (session 146)!

Taking place THIS Saturday, August 8th, from 1:15 to 2:15 PM (EDT), our third iteration of the Teaching Incubator PDW has been adapted to fit the AOM Annual Meeting's virtual format, which will include two separate 25-minute rounds of panel discussions.  In each round, we will have virtual "discussion tables" focusing on a specific theme, with Teaching Mentors providing expert guidance and feedback on issues relating to that theme.  The session has been categorized as a "Real-Time Presenters/Panel," which means that "Presenters are on live video and audience participates via chat."  In short, this will feel like a panel discussion that is driven by panelists' responses to the topic-related questions that participants share through the comments feature.  This year's selected topics include:

    ROUND 1

    • "Connecting the Classroom to the Field"
    • "COVID-19: Lessons Learned for Healthcare Management Education"
    • "Teaching Online & Hybrid Courses"
    ROUND 2
    • "Looking Ahead: Teaching in a COVID-19 World"
    • "Overcoming Challenging Student Issues & Ensuring Student Success"
    • "Working with Executive and/or Doctoral Students"

Those who are interested in attending should please complete this online form to help us match you with your preferred topics in each round.  As always, the HCM Teaching Incubator PDW seeks to provide a forum and foster a community in which healthcare management scholars can discuss pertinent issues about teaching, from common questions and challenges that educators confront to helpful practices, tips, and ideas to becoming more effective instructors. For those who would value feedback, advice, or help with teaching, this PDW will be of particular interest, offering helpful guidance on issues confronted in a range of educational settings by healthcare management instructors.

If you have any questions, we encourage you to contact Patrick Shay at pshay@trinity.edu.  And, don't forget our session number (146) and to complete the quick online form: AOM 2020: HCM Teaching Incubator PDW Form.  We are eager for your participation; please join us on Saturday, and please spread the word!

    Thank you!
