    Hi HCM Division Members,

As we all eagerly await the decision regarding whether the AOM conference will take place in Vancouver this year and what will follow if we don't meet in person. We have heard and shared your health-related concerns as well as the financial and travel restrictions affecting so many of our universities. We conveyed all that to the AOM leadership. We will have a more definitive picture about the status of the conference by
May 7 when the AOM Board of Governors is planning to provide more information.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the HCM Division, I want to let you know regardless of AOM's decision we're discussing how to deliver on what draws us to HCM even if we can't meet in person this year. We're thinking through creative ways we might be able to offer synchronous or asynchronous sessions that are of interest to of you. In doing so, we're also especially attentive to the unique challenges of higher education during COVID-19 for both research and teaching and giving extra attention to preserving offerings for our members who may be especially affected if AOM cancels the in-person meeting (e.g., doctoral students and junior faculty). We are working on developing options for virtual experiences that will help keep your research and teaching moving forward and also attempt to build some of those energizing and generative social and networking connections that make HCM special. We also will be sure to recognize our deserving scholarly, teaching, and service award recipients.

As soon as we know more, we'll be sure to share it with you all. Please feel free to reach out to any of the officers or other members of the executive committee with questions or any suggestions for the ways in which the Division could best provide support to its members during these unprecedented times.

    Take Care,
