Dear PhD student members,
Are you interested in becoming more involved in the Health Care Management (HCM) Division? We are excited to announce recruitment for the HCM Student Engagement Committee (SEC)!
What opportunities are there to serve the HCM division?
The SEC serves as the voice of the HCM students by:
- Participating in bi-monthly SEC meetings, where student members partner to amplify the needs and voices of student members throughout the year
- Serving on one additional HCM division committee as a student representative
- Supporting the HCM Student Division Representatives in organizing the Emerging Scholars Consortium at the Annual Meeting, which may include:
- Developing and implementing Professional Development Workshops
- Partnering with division committees to meet yearly goals and objectives
- Developing and expanding student-centered events within the HCM division
Committees currently seeking student representatives:
- 2 students to serve on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DEI)
- 2 students to serve on the Membership Committee
- 1 student to serve on the Research Committee
- 1 student to serve on the Practice Committee
- Potential opportunities to moderate and coordinate webinars throughout the year
Why should you join?
The HCM SEC is a unique opportunity for PhD students to participate in service positions at the Academy of Management. Your volunteerism will enable you to create meaningful connections with leaders in the HCM division, work in partnership with senior faculty across the division, and grow your professional skill set. You will have the opportunity to improve your leadership, communication, and organizational skills to support your development as you complete your PhD studies. The HCM division prides itself on being an inclusive and supportive community of scholars dedicated to their student members' success and development. Plus, we have a lot of fun in the process!
