    Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor – Implementation Science
     
    The Department of Health Services Administration in the School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a full-time, open rank, tenure-track faculty position in dissemination and implementation science.
     
    The selected applicant will join a diverse academic community with over 40 full-time faculty members, 4,000+ alumni, and an enrollment of just under 800 students. The Department of Health Services Administration offers two doctoral programs, as well as master's programs in Health Informatics (CAHIIM accredited), Healthcare Quality and Safety (CAHME-accredited, ranked #11 in the nation by US News and World Report), Health Administration (CAHME-accredited, ranked #1 in the nation by US News and World Report), Health Services Research, and Healthcare Simulation. The department has a solid fiscal foundation and an engaged community of alumni and other practitioners. Department faculty engage in multidisciplinary research programs with faculty from across the academic campus and academic medical center (UAB Health System). Thus, the selected applicant will have extensive opportunities to pursue their own implementation science research agenda as well as join a vibrant portfolio of existing research activities.     
     
    Requirements
    • A Ph.D., Sc.D., Dr.P.H., or equivalent research doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as implementation science, management/organizational science, behavioral/social science, systems science (completed by start date).
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research and capacity to obtain peer-reviewed funding.
    • Ability to mentor pre-and post-doctoral students and demonstrate teaching excellence at the graduate level.
    • Ability to work in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary environment.
     
    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct original research and scholarship, including the capacity to pursue external funding as PI, MPI, or co-I on projects related to implementation and delivery system science (e.g., health services research).
    • Provide dissemination and implementation (D&I) methodological expertise to doctoral students and scientific collaborators.
    • Teach graduate courses in support of a newly developed D&I certificate program and existing doctoral programs
