You're invited to join us for our upcoming Dare to Care Research Café!

WHAT IS THE CAFÉ ALL ABOUT?

Are you a junior scholar or Ph.D. student interested in conducting responsible, useful, and credible research using field experiments and quasi-experiments? Grab a cup of joe and join the Dare to Care Research Café  -- an online, virtual conversation series designed to connect early stage scholars with experienced faculty who have published in the domain of responsible research. Presenters will be asked to brief us on their RRBM Award-winning work (including the "behind-the-scenes" struggles) and café participants will then have a chance to connect with the authors and others scholars in an interactive breakout room activity. The goal of the café is to foster connections between scholars, deepen our collective understanding of what it means to be responsible researchers, to help junior scholars to learn the "how" of responsible research. For this café, we will focus on experimental/quasi-experimental work drawing on field data.

This Research Café will occur virtually on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM ET (US). The Dare to Care Research Café is sponsored by RRBM and organized by Dare to Care Scholars.

This is the second installment of the Dare to Care Research Café, which focuses on featuring and discussing how to do research that "moves" the world. The café's goal aligns with the mission of the RRBM in that we hope to inspire and encourage the next generation of scholars to engage in important research that improves business and management practices, and has a positive effect on society.

WHO WILL BE AT THE CAFÉ?

The following authors from three RRBM Award-winning papers will join us to discuss their work.

Dr. Luis Ballesteros and Dr. Tyler Wry discuss:

Ballesteros, L., Useem, M., & Wry, T. (2017). Masters of disasters? An empirical analysis of how societies benefit from corporate disaster aid. Academy of Management Journal, 60(5), 1682-1708. (Winner of the 2019 Responsible Research in Management Award.)

Dr. Ivona Hideg and Dr. Anja Krstic discuss:

Hideg, I., Krstic, A., Trau, R. N., & Zarina, T. (2018). The unintended consequences of maternity leaves: How agency interventions mitigate the negative effects of longer legislated maternity leaves. Journal of Applied Psychology, 103(10), 1155. (Winner of the 2019 Responsible Research in Management Award.)
