    The University of Oklahoma, Price College of Business, is pleased to announce that applications and nominations are being accepted for an (depending on qualifications) Open Rank Professor of Strategic Management beginning in fall of 2022. Applicants will be considered for appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank based on achievements and experience. Endowed professorships/chairs may be available for qualified candidates at the Associate or Full rank. The intent is to identify a current or emerging scholar in strategic management, especially those with an interest in strategic leadership, top management teams, or international strategy.

     

    The candidate must have an earned doctorate in a relevant field. Evidence of high-level scholarly contributions or the potential to create such contributions to a relevant literature is required. Candidates for more senior ranks should have a nationally recognized research record, extensive teaching experience in strategic management or related areas, including at the graduate level, and other/service qualifications for tenure at the Associate Professor level or above at the University of Oklahoma. Applicants must also be committed to excellence in teaching, to collegiality, and to fulfilling the mission of the Price College (https://www.ou.edu/price).

     

    This position offers a highly competitive salary along with research and travel support. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate courses in strategic management or similar courses in our MBA program, which has various formats, including online and/or in person at our 27,000 square-foot flagship facility for the Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business in the heart of Oklahoma City at OU's University Research Park on the Health Sciences Center campus (https://www.ou.edu/price/mba).     The University of Oklahoma is a comprehensive research university offering a wide range of undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. programs plus an extensive continuing education and public service program. The Michael F. Price College of Business is AACSB accredited at all levels with approximately 5,000 students in bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. programs.

     

    The Management and International Business Division in the Michael F. Price College of Business is composed of faculty with interests in human resource management, international business, leadership, legal studies, organizational behavior, social issues management, sports management, and strategic management. We currently offer undergraduate degrees in Energy Management, General Management, International Business, and Sports Business plus a minor in Leadership. We deliver required courses for all Masters programs. In addition, we provide PhD concentrations in Organizational Behavior and International Business.

     

    Currently, the division has 18 full-time faculty members, including the following management scholars: Ronald Anderson, Ana Bolino, Mark Bolino (Division Chair), Bret Bradley, Michael Buckley, Shawn McClean, Margaret Shaffer, Ryan Spalding, and Daphne Yiu. Our faculty is an active group of collaboratively minded scholars whose work has appeared regularly in premier outlets such as the Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Journal, Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Leadership Quarterly, Journal of International Business Studies, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Psychology, and Strategic Management Journal. Several faculty also fulfill major editorial roles in these and other premier outlets, including current Associate Editor roles at Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Small Group Research.

     

    The city of Norman, Oklahoma is a vibrant community of approximately 120,000 residents and is often ranked among the lowest in the nation in terms of cost of living. In addition to numerous boutiques, shopping, and restaurants located directly north of campus, Norman is nicknamed the "City of Festivals" due to its numerous art, music, medieval, and other festivals held annually. The OU Campus is home to the Fred Jones Museum of Art, featuring a collection of impressionistic art valued at over $100 million including works of Degas, Monet, Cassatt, Van Gogh, Pissarro, Renoir, and others. The campus also houses the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, which won the National Medal for Museum and Library Science in 2014. In 2015, CBS Sports named the University of Oklahoma as having the best collegiate athletics program in the country.

     

    Located less than twenty miles from Norman, Oklahoma City is home to an international airport, numerous restaurants, retailers, NBA Basketball (Oklahoma City Thunder), AAA Baseball, USL Soccer, a world-class symphony, ballet, a travelling Broadway Series, and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art which boasts one of the world's most comprehensive collections from famed glass artist Dale Chihuly. Oklahoma City's Boathouse district is a training site for Olympians plus offers numerous recreational boating and cycling opportunities along the Oklahoma River.
