Subject: Call for Papers Now Open - Analyzing Cultures of Excellence Special Issue of Measuring Business Excellence

    Dear colleagues,

    Apologies for cross posting.

The call for papers is now open for a special issue of the "Measuring Business Excellence" journal on "Analyzing Cultures of Excellence."  The call will close on June 30, 2021.  Instructions for submission through Scholar One and other information can be found at: https://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/journal/mbe/analyzing-cultures-excellence

This special issue has the following aims:

    1. To understand the influence that organizational, geographic, and other social cultures have on continuous improvement, waste reduction, and problem solving activities in organizations.  This will be met through conceptual and empirical articles that examine how cultural assumptions, values, and artifacts impact organizational processes and operations.
    2. To assess specific cultural elements that are most closely related to excellent business practices.  This will be met through conceptual and empirical articles that examine specific cultural attributes and link them to best practices in organizations.
    3. To make recommendations for ways in which organizations can create their own cultures of excellence despite potential limitations that they might face.  This will be met through conceptual and empirical articles that consider the interplay between different overlapping cultural influences in suggesting new and improved ways in which organizations might operate.

    Coverage

Scholars and practitioners are invited to submit papers for inclusion in this special issue of Measuring Business Excellence (MBE). Topics of interests in management and business include, but are not limited to, the following issues:

    • The influence of multiple levels of culture on business excellence
    • Specific cultural elements related to continuous improvement, problem solving, and waste reduction
    • Ways that organizations can create an internal culture of excellence despite broader external cultural challenges
    • The relationship between a culture's assumptions, values, and artifacts and the individual traits of employees that facilitate excellence initiatives
    • How different cultures interpret the idea of business excellence

I hope that you will consider submitting to this special issue.  Please email me at michael.urick@stvincent.edu with any questions you have.
