  • 1.  Understanding stakeholder dynamics for effective policy development

    Posted 07-31-2019 23:17

A crucial part of developing effective public policy is that of anticipating the reaction of stakeholders.  However, the reaction of stakeholders is potentially complex because it can involve a continuous sequence of interactions as stakeholders respond to each other as well as to the policy.  This workshop introduces two related approaches for exploring stakeholder interactions in situations where feedback relationships among stakeholders, policies, politics, and strategies entail significant and often counter-intuitive effects. The workshop is designed to facilitate the exploration of, and theory behind, the approaches for understanding and optimizing policy. Participant involvement in two cases will be used to illustrate the approaches.
