    Dear Colleagues,

The importance of preparing for potential future scenarios within organizations in a systematic manner has been acknowledged for a long time. More recently, we have been reminded of this due to the Covid19 pandemic. The organizational practice of exploring the futures ahead and using information from these futures to maintain and achieve competitive advantage, i.e. (corporate foresight) is not only increasingly common in the business arena, it is also an important while underinvestigated phenomenon to study for researchers in business schools, regardless of domain of interest.

For consultants, it is fundamental to be adept at these practices, as organizations are increasingly demanding scenario planning/corporate foresight facilitators to expand their capacity to think about the futures effectively. For MC researchers, it is also important to investigate how foresight consultancy can be practiced at best in various contexts to achieve desired organizational outcomes.

To familiarize with these processes, the Asia Pacific Futures Network Conference is a great place to start. This event is the leading conference on futures studies and foresight in the Asian region. Hereafter you will find a video trailer of the 2020 edition of this conference (Virtual, November 19th-21st):
