AI Timing, Cognitive Adaptation, and Human-Centred AI Futures

    Dear colleagues,

With the extension of the 7th World Symposium on Artificial Intelligence (WSAI 2026, June 24–26, Jinan, China) timeline, it may be useful to revisit how AI is interacting with underlying cognitive processes within the broader context of human-centred AI futures.

A question that has been emerging is:

How does the timing of AI interaction influence cognitive adaptation during early-stage idea formation?

Rather than focusing solely on AI capabilities, this perspective considers how AI environments may shape internal processing, particularly under conditions of uncertainty.

This connects with a wider discussion on how intelligent systems interact with human agency and cognitive functioning, as explored in the WSAI special session on Human-Centred AI Futures: Cognition, Agency, and Decision-Making in Intelligent Systems.

    Best regards,
    Victor
