Dear Colleagues,
My co-authors and I have conducted a meta-analysis of the literature on self-monitoring and variables associated with status. Self-monitoring concerns individual differences in expressive control of one's public self-presentations, and is typically measured using the Self-Monitoring Scale (Snyder, 1974), Self-Monitoring Scale-Revised (Snyder & Gangestad, 1986), or the Revised Self-Monitoring Scale (Lennox & Wolfe, 1984).
To supplement our search of the published literature, we are seeking unpublished records (e.g., working or in-press papers, conference papers, unpublished data) reporting correlations of self-reports of self-monitoring to variables broadly associated with status, which include any of the following:
1. Self-reports of motivations for status, motivations for power, personal values of power, or enterprising vocational interests
2. Peer-reports of leadership ratings/rankings or emergence, or workplace social status
3. Objective measures of promotions/advancement, salary, or leadership role occupancy
If possible, we are also requesting details related to what measures were used, characteristics of the sample (e.g., undergraduates, employees; demographic characteristics; country of data collection) and characteristics of the data collection (e.g., cross-sectional vs. longitudinal).
Any unpublished work that you might have available would be very helpful to us in completing our meta-analysis. If you have unpublished work that you would be willing to share, please e-mail the information to me at mp.wilmot@utoronto.ca by January 25, 2019.
Thank you for your time and any help that you might be able to offer!
Best,
