Hello colleagues:
Isabelle Lescent-Giles, Elisabetta Ghisini, and I are assembling a presenter symposium to advance a more nuanced understanding of women in leadership and power to submit for consideration for the 2019 Academy of Management meeting in Boston, which will take place August 9-13. For this proposal, we are particularly interested in theory development and/or empirical work focused on female leaders working in interesting, unique, and/or otherwise understudied contexts - collegiate and professional sports coaching/administration, the political realm, developing nations, startups, family businesses, and any other contexts with potential to yield a more nuanced understanding of women in power. We want to make this a great symposium and, to that end, would love to consider your work! This submission will be congruent with the conference theme of "Understanding the Inclusive Organization," and we already have a couple of very interesting papers to include, so the submission will hopefully be well received.
If you are interested in having your work considered for this presenter symposium submission, please send a 300-500 word brief abstract to anthony.turner@faculty.hult.edu by December 6th, 2018. The overall timeline is as follows:
- December 6th, 2018: Brief abstracts (~500 words) due to anthony.turner@faculty.hult.edu
- December 8th, 2018: Decision made about which papers to include in the submission made and authors notified
- December 22nd, 2018: Extended abstract (2-5 pages text, excluding references and up to 2 pages of appendices) due to anthony.turner@faculty.hult.edu
Thank you, and we very much look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Anthony
