Dear Colleagues,
In light of AOM 2019's theme around understanding the inclusive organization, I am working with Janaki Gooty to co-organize a presenter symposium on refugee experiences in the workplace for the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. It is the goal of this symposium to span both micro- and macro-organizational topics that are relevant to refugees in the workforce. Some examples of relevant topics for the symposium include:
- Factors that influence obtaining employment and career success for refugees post-resettlement
- Transitioning from a previous career in the home country to post-resettlement careers
- The role of the organization and leadership in assisting refugees in the workplace
- Factors that influence refugees' work attitudes, behaviors, and well-being
- Discrimination of refugees in the workplace

jgooty@uncc.edu. In your response, please send a brief summary of your current work. Submission to AOM will require a 2-5 page synopsis of the project (not including tables, figures, references).
