    The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University is hiring for two full time, term (non-tenure track) faculty positions.  The first position will have responsibility for teaching general management courses, the targeted start date for this position is August 16, 2019.  The second position will contribute to our Human Resource Management program, and the anticipated start date for this position is January 4, 2020.

    Position 1:  General Management.  The person hired for this position will have as a primary responsibility the teaching of MGMT 310: Managing People in Organizations. As this course is delivered in large (200 student) sections, applicants should have the interest in and ability to teach in large sections and to integrate technology where appropriate to enhance student engagement and learning in large class formats. This individual will serve as course coordinator and work with department chair and other faculty to promote consistency and efficiency in the delivery of this required course, and possibly other courses in the future. Applicants should have teaching interests in the areas of general management, organizational behavior, strategy, entrepreneurship, leadership, or related areas. Successful candidates will be expected to be engaged in the scholarly or professional community at a level sufficient to maintain qualifications per the School of Business AACSB faculty qualification standards.

    Position 2: Human Resource Management.  The person hired for this position will teach courses in the area of Human Resources Management, which may include Introduction to HRM, Compensation, Organizational Development, and related courses. Secondary teaching interests in areas including leadership and negotiations may also be desirable. In addition to teaching, this individual will advise the student SHRM chapter and work to develop its prominence on campus and in the region, and will work to help connect our students with the local HR business community and enhance the visibility and reputation of the School of Business Human Resource Management program. Applicants should have a business/professional background with work at a high level of professional responsibility in human resource management or related areas. Successful candidates will be expected to continue to be engaged with their profession at a level sufficient to maintain qualifications as a scholarly practitioner or instructional practitioner per the School of Business AACSB faculty qualification standards.
