Call for Abstracts: Inclusive Leadership Development - Diversifying and Individualizing Leader and Leadership Development

Dear colleagues,
Aligning with the theme of inclusive organizations in the upcoming 2019 AOM meeting in Boston, we're organizing a presenter symposium for leadership development researchers to share work around the theme of inclusive leadership development. As we face shifts in employee age, education, ethnicity <g class="gr_ gr_50 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="50" data-gr-id="50">and</g> ability profiles, and as we more often acknowledge differences in leadership styles and identities, we also need to evolve the way we approach leadership development in organizations.
If your research relates to any of the following questions, please submit an abstract:
- What does inclusive leadership development look like?
- How do individuals differ in their leadership development?
- How might demographic differences (in race/ethnicity, gender, age, education, socioeconomic status, and other factors) influence people's leadership development?
- How do people negotiate identities in their leadership development journey?
- How is developing inclusive forms of leadership such as collective leadership different from traditional approaches?
- How might we design and implement inclusive leadership development practices in organizations?
- What are the effects of inclusive leadership development on employee, organizational, or societal outcomes?
If you have work that fits this theme, we welcome submissions! Please submit an extended abstract to Alyson Meister at meister.alyson@gmail.com, by Saturday, December 15th, 2018: The abstract should include:
- Project title
- Key ideas and contributions
- Description of methods, data, and findings (if appropriate)
Overall timeline:
December 15th, 2018: extended abstracts (3-5 pages of text, excluding references and figures and tables) due
January 1st, 2019: abstracts <g class="gr_ gr_52 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="52" data-gr-id="52">chosen</g> and authors notified
January 15th, 2019: symposium proposal submitted to the Academy
