OB DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM AT ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT

    Dear OB Division Members,

We are seeking nominations for the 2019 AOM OB Doctoral Student Consortium. The consortium will take place August 9th and 10th, 2019 at the Annual AOM conference in Boston.

The program includes a mix of presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions designed to launch doctoral students into their academic careers. Faculty presentations, interactive panels with journal editors, and roundtable sessions include topics such as crafting the right academic job, succeeding at research and publishing, and preparing for effective teaching, as well as other related topics.

The consortium will begin on Friday afternoon (likely 4-7pm) and will continue throughout the day on Saturday (8am-1pm) – participants must attend both days, and we strongly recommend they additionally attend the corresponding "Acing the Job Talk" PDW from 1-3:30 p.m.

    Application Criteria

    1. A nomination submitted by the program/department. Only 1 application per program will be accepted (e.g., 1 from management, 1 from industrial relations, and/or 1 from I/O Psychology).
    2. Endorsement by your academic advisor.
    3. Preference is given to those who have made the most progress toward completing their Ph.D., but have not yet defended their dissertation. The consortium is for advanced OB students who plan to apply for faculty positions that begin in Fall 2020.
    4. The deadline for receipt of nominations and supporting materials will be March 15, 2019. You need:
      1. one page vita/bio in PDF format (longer documents may be rejected)
      2. one page dissertation summary in PDF format (title and abstract is fine)
      3. Endorsement of your advisor/program chair (a brief statement to be completed by the nominator, within the Qualtrics survey).

Nominations will only be accepted via the following Qualtrics survey:
