If you are an OB PhD student, are interested in presenting at AOM 2019, and also seek to cultivate your reviewing and feedback abilities, this PDW is for you – even if you don't think you have anything to present.

We want to give as many OB PhD students as possible the chance to develop their skills of 1) communicating research and ideas in a clear and compelling way and 2) giving highly valuable feedback on others' work. For the third installment of the annual AOM PDW, "Developing Each Other: Peer Mentorship and Professional Development for Organizational Behavior Ph.D. Students and Ph.D. Candidates", we are curating an innovative session that will use a unique format with these goals in mind.

In particular, we will focus on research ideas and projects in all stages of the pipeline – from extremely nascent to under review. In our anonymous survey of OB faculty members for an AOM 2018 PDW, a major theme that emerged was that doctoral students should get feedback on ideas much earlier than they often seek it. Further, in a career structured on peer feedback and review, it is imperative for doctoral students to develop the skills of giving high quality feedback on others' research. This PDW will provide these opportunities in a low-stakes, high psychological safety environment.

OB PhD Students – please consider participating in this PDW. Simply fill out this form, indicating what stage of research you would like to present (new/nascent, in progress, or late-stage) and a brief description of your idea/research, and we will include you as a presenter in our PDW. Final presentation length will depend on how many presenters we have, but will not be longer than 10 minutes, and most likely shorter. Structured guidelines for reviewing and providing feedback will be provided and debriefed.

Applications are due by midnight EST December 31st, 2018.

This year the PDW will be geared only towards OB/OT students (apologies, strategy friends!) but may expand to other disciplines after the processes is vetted.

Feel free to reach out (karren@wharton.upenn.edu) if you have any questions and we hope you will join us!
