Dear all,
I vaguely recall reading a claim in an article/book chapter on multilevel issues, stating that mono-level relationships between independent and dependent variables can be expected to be stronger in magnitude than multi-level relationships (e.g., same-level antecedent impacts focal construct more strongly than higher- or lower-level antecedent). I was wondering whether you could point me to the source of this claim (Kozlowski & Klein 2000 perhaps)? In addition, I'm wondering whether there is any evidence for this claim.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
