    Dear Leadership Scholars:

I, in coordination with my colleagues Patricia Hind and Viki Holton, am putting together a presenter symposium on the evolution of leadership in a diverse and digitally-connected world to submit to the 79th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in Boston, which will take place August 9-13, 2019.  I would appreciate the opportunity to consider your work for inclusion within that symposium!

The impetus for the symposium is that our modern world is very different from the one in which most theories and research about leadership originate. Today, broad and rich communication can occur instantaneously, and leaders interact with a more diverse group of followers and other stakeholders than at any other point in history.  This symposium aims to deepen our shared understanding of how the definition and practice of leadership may be evolving in such a world.  Papers in this symposium may be theoretical/conceptual or empirical work that is complete or in progress.  Submissions in line with the conference theme, "Understanding the Inclusive Organization," are especially welcome, although a more primary criterion for selecting papers is that they fit together well to form a rich and cohesive symposium.  As such, papers not fitting the conference theme are very welcome and will receive full consideration.

If you are interested in having your work included in this symposium submission, please send a 250-500 word abstract of that work to anthony.turner@faculty.hult.edu by November 26th, 2018.

The overall timeline is as follows:

    ·      November 26th, 2018: Abstracts due to anthony.turner@faculty.hult.edu

    ·      December 1st, 2018: Abstract selection complete and notifications made

    ·      December 15th, 2018: Extended abstract due (2-5 pages text, excluding references and up to 2 pages of appendices)

Thank you, and I very much look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,

    Anthony
