    I am pleased to share that the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking to add a professor of practice to help support the online MBA program. Please see the details below, on behalf of Jake Messersmith who is chairing this search. 

     

    Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Practice

    The Department of Management in the College of Business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a non-tenure leading faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Practice, with an expected start date of August 2019. The successful candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full depending on qualifications in the Department of Management. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to teach graduate (MBA) level courses, including online courses. The faculty member will be an integral part of the Department's and College's long-term commitment to teaching excellence, and will be expected to teach a variety of courses at the MBA level in the areas of Strategy, and/or OB/HR. The bulk of the teaching will be in online courses to support the MBA@Nebraska. Professors of Practice (regardless of rank) are hired on multi-year contracts that are renewable subject to performance. Online MBA courses are offered in an 8-week format. Teaching responsibilities typically will be 9 hours per semester. This will be an academic year (nine month) appointment and the salary is competitive. Additional teaching options are also available during the summer term.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Applicants must have 1) an MBA or a master's in a related field with relevant industry work experience OR 2) a doctorate in management or a related field, or will have completed the requirements for the Ph.D. at the time of appointment. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to rigorous pedagogical standards, innovative teaching methods and experience teaching a variety of courses.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching management related courses at the graduate level, with particular proficiency in teaching online courses. Preference will also be given to candidates with significant industry experience and/or experience teaching executive education. The college prefers candidates who are prepared to develop elective courses in areas such as negotiations, leading virtual teams, talent development and/or design thinking. Elective allocations will be based on instructor strengths and background.
