Hello,
I teach a MA and Ph.D. Organizational Leadership Class at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Here are 2 suggestions:
- The ESCI is an emotional intelligence assessment. The student self- assesses him or herself and then asks others (managers, colleagues, etc.) to do the same. The report will show the gaps in perceptions between self and others. The student can then write a summary of the results and identifies the gaps. Then, the student write an action plan using the SMART guide (specific, measurable, achievable and time-bound) technique
- Also, when discussing EQ, there is a worksheet where students identify their "emotional triggers" on a 5-point Likert Scale and we discuss
- Or, asking for examples of people they know or public figures who exhibit high and low EQ.
- There is also an article (by Thory) on various techniques used to train for EQ.
If you are interested, please email me at
spappas@thechicagoschool.edu and I can grab / insert examples from my computer at work.

Hi all,
I'll be grateful for any suggestions for a 3-hour class on Emotional Intelligence for MBA students. It could include readings, cases, activities and role plays.
Thanks in advance!
