    Call for PDW Participants: Benefits and Pitfalls of Technology in the Classroom
    Organizers: Sumita Raghuram, Jean M. Phillips, Hee Man Park
    Saturday August 11, 2018 | 9:45am – 11:45am | Sheraton Grand Chicago in Streeterville

    PDW Overview:

    Personal technology in the classroom (e.g. smartphones and laptops) can either enable or hinder teaching effectiveness. It can enable teaching to the extent that instructors are able to incorporate technology tools in their teaching (e.g. mobile apps, or online gaming). On the other hand, the very same technology (e.g. texting, web-surfing) can hinder learning as it can be a source of distraction to the students.

    PDW participants will learn/share ideas best manage technology in the classroom. The PDW code for registration is PDWGONP4. Please

    o Submit a paragraph that contains the information below:
    o Courses taught.
    o Activities and strategies you have successfully used to either (1) incorporate technology in teaching HRM topics or (2) to minimize its intrusion in learning.
    o Send it to Hee Man Park (hxp176@psu.edu), Jean Phillips (jmp62@psu.edu) or Sumita Raghuram (sur19@psu.edu) by July 31th , 2018.

    A maximum of 22 participants will be accepted to facilitate quality interactions.
