    Auburn University - Professor and Department Chair in Management

     

    Position: The Raymond J. Harbert College of Business at Auburn University invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Management. The Chair is responsible for academic leadership, working with other business school programs, maintaining and enhancing ties between the department and the management profession, and providing vision and innovation for the development of management programs at Auburn University.

     

    Qualifications: Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree in Management or a closely related field. All senior scholars with strong research records in management are encouraged to apply. An ability to mentor junior faculty who focus in the micro perspective areas of management research is a plus.

    Qualifications include an instructional and research record commensurate with a tenured appointment at the rank of Full Professor, active association with professional organizations, and a willingness to interact with the business community. Prior administrative experience is desirable, and applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the term of employment.

     

    Responsibilities: The Chair will lead efforts of the department to support the Harbert College mission of producing highly-desired graduates and generating knowledge that drives business thought and practice. In addition to assuming a key leadership role in the department, the successful applicant will be expected to maintain a quality research program and encourage the same from others, model and encourage high quality teaching, and participate significantly in program outreach efforts to expand and enhance relationships with companies and government agencies.

     

    The Department of Management currently consists of 14 tenure-track faculty in areas spanning strategic management, organizational behavior, human resource management, and entrepreneurship. The Harbert College of Business is AACSB accredited, has five academic departments, several Master's and Ph.D. programs, centers for research and executive education, and an enrollment of over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
