Do you use debates in your classes? Have you wanted to, but are unsure how to structure or evaluate a debate? Join us for an interactive PDW on using debates in management classrooms on Friday, August 10 from 2:45 to 5:15 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago in Mayfair.
We're planning a fun and interactive PDW, but to make sure it's useful to you, we'd like your help planning the topics that small groups will work on. Ultimately, we hope to provide outlines of different debate topics that we can share with participants and on Connect for those who can't attend the annual meeting. To make that happen, we need to hear from you!
- Share your experiences using debates in your classroom. What worked and what didn't?
- If you have a topic you think would be interesting to debate, post it in a response to this message. We can make sure tables work on the most requested topics during the PDW.
- Post a question you'd like ask our panelists address as they share best practices
- If you've already used debates and have materials you're willing to share, you can attach them in a response and post them to the Connect library. We'll keep adding to the library to provide all members with a valuable resource for using debates. I've started a folder in the Library where you can download or share materials.
We're looking forward to getting this conversation started before AOM and continuing it during our PDW, so please join in!
If you plan to be in Chicago and would like to attend the PDW in person, add Using Debates on Hot Topics to your online program by clicking here.
