The Conference on Field Experiments in Strategy (CFXS) is co-hosted by Rem Koning (HBS), Sharique Hasan (Duke), Hyunjin Kim (INSEAD), and the Innovation Growth Lab (IGL) team. The conference brings together leading scholars from around the world who use experimental methods to explore cutting-edge interventions in strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, business growth, and experimental economics. The main part of the conference features paper presentations, idea pitches, and interactive discussions - all in a collaborative, informal environment. Confirmed speakers and discussants for this year include Sonny Tambe (Wharton), Anita McGahan (University of Toronto), and John Horton (MIT), among others.
This year, the conference´s agenda includes a first-ever Generative AI Workshop on October 10th. The workshop includes hands-on sessions on using AI tools to design and analyse experiments, and show participants how AI tools can be used at every stage of experimental design: refining research ideas, identifying flaws, running power simulations, and prototyping treatments. By the end of it, participants will have gained new ways to improve rigor and reliability, explore innovative design possibilities, and develop the confidence to run more ambitious experimental studies. There will also be a panel on how AI is changing the scientific process, featuring Lamar Pierce (Washington University), Melissa Valentine (Stanford University), and Pierre Azoulay (MIT), among others.
