    Greetings colleagues and friends

You may fairly ask "what does rural entrepreneurship have to do with technology and innovation?" However, technological advancements and innovation management practices play essential roles in the growth and sustainability of rural enterprises. Firstly, technology enables rural entrepreneurs to overcome geographical and resource constraints by improving access to information, markets, and financial services. Secondly, while rural businesses are rooted in agriculture and resource-based industries, innovation is crucial there for improving productivity and sustainability (e.g. precision agriculture, internet of Things (IoT), blockchains). Third, Rural entrepreneurs often benefit from technology that supports skills training and knowledge sharing, such as online courses, virtual incubators, and telecommunication-based mentoring.
Fourth, rural entrepreneurship frequently aligns with innovation and diversify their offerings to add value to products that appeal to a wider market. Finally, the concept of entrepreneurial ecosystems is vital for fostering innovation across urban and rural areas.

On behalf of the excellent team  Erik Monsen University of Vermont, Whitney Peake, Western Kentucky university and Simona Zollet, Hiroshima University  we invite you to participate in a special issue on Rural entrepreneurship in Small Business Economics Journal - no boundaries whatsoever.

Due to a substantial number of requests from interested authors, the deadline to submit full manuscripts to the upcoming "Rural Entrepreneurship" special issue has been changed to November 30th.
The call for papers on the journal website (https://link.springer.com/journal/11187/updates/26852204) is in the process of being updated, but we thought it best to spread the news right away.

Further, based on several inquiries, I would like to clarify that the special issue is open to everyone, independent of whether you attended the conference, you are from entrepreneurship field or not, whether you are international business, strategy, entrepreneurship, management, engineering or other scholar.

We will consider indiscriminately all manuscripts that relate to rural entrepreneurship - qualitative and qualitative as well as conceptual and empirical -  independent of the home discipline of the researcher.

    Best wishes
    Maksim
