The Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for professorship positions in business strategy.
A professorship is a full-time permanent position. The starting date is 1 March 2024 or as agreed upon.
A professor's time is divided evenly between research and teaching activities, and the successful candidate will become part of the AIROD research section headed by Professor René Chester Goduscheit.
Job description
Candidates for the position should excel academically in business strategy research, teaching and dissemination.
We take business seriously, and for this reason, professors are expected to take a leading role in the department's cross-cutting activities between business, IT and engineering disciplines. Such activities may involve supporting the development of junior faculty, directing interdisciplinary research groups, taking responsibility for broader teaching activities or leading projects with practical business implications and pronounced industry involvement.
Candidates with research activities involving and aimed at industry will be preferred.
The successful applicant is expected to teach and supervise students at bachelor's, master's and PhD level and may be involved in industry-oriented training. Courses relevant for the position are taught in both Danish and English. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who can teach one or more of the following courses: Corporate strategy, industrial organisation and strategy or management and strategy in business sustainability.
Your qualifications
Applicants should have a strong academic background as associate professor or equivalent. Furthermore, applicants should hold the following qualifications:
- A significant record of strong research, as evidenced by publications in highly reputed international journals.
- A clear, well-developed and viable strategy for future high-level research.
- A track record of excellence in teaching, course management and supervision on topics relevant for our study programmes.
- A commitment to teaching that provides the students with relevant competences as well as the ability to critically reflect on the topic.
- A commitment to be involved with industry and the broader society and to prioritise dialogue with practitioners.
- A track record of good citizenship in the wider academic community combined with a commitment to contribute to a vibrant work environment at our department.
- A track record of and commitment to attracting external research funding.
- A track record of demonstrated scientific leadership reflected in an ability to manage research projects, editorial board service, supervision of PhD students, industry collaborations, international collaborations, etc.
