    Technological advancements continue to catalyze profound transformations in operations management (Olsen and Tomlin, 2020; Stark et al., 2022). The transformative potential of emerging technologies, such as Additive manufacturing [3D printing], the pervasive sensor network [Internet of Things (IoT)], augmented reality [AR], and artificial intelligence [AI], is palpable even among the hype that popular press occasionally attributes to them. These innovations hold the potential to revolutionize operations and redefine the way individuals engage with work (Choi et al., 2022). They also promise to influence the way in which organizations manage their workers and design work, with systematic impacts on how new and legacy processes, and new and seasoned workers interact.
