Two Research Fellow Openings in International Business and Innovation Studies at Zhejiang University.
We are looking for two Postdoctoral Research Fellows to join the Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, School of Management, Zhejiang University, under the supervision of Professor Simon Collinson.
Zhejiang University[i] is a research-oriented university, ranked 47th in the most recent (2024) Times Higher World Rankings, 4th in China and 9th in Asia. It is based in Hangzhou located an hour's train ride from Shanghai. The School of Management is a top-ranked, research-oriented business school with international partnerships with universities including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge University and Stanford University.
The successful candidates will be core members of a new research institute focused on international business and innovation, led by Professor Collinson. They will gather data, conduct quantitative and/or qualitative analyses, and write academic papers and policy / practitioner outputs in the areas of international business, regional economic growth, innovation, entrepreneurship and firm strategy. A key aim is to develop better international comparative studies of innovation and (the activities and impacts of) multinational firms across the world, working with international partners. They will also contribute to funding bids, attend and present at conferences and workshops, and contribute to the longer-term development of a leading research institute in a globally top 50, research-intensive university.
Requirements:
- A doctoral degree in economics and management ideally related to international business, regional economic growth, innovation, comparative organisation studies, entrepreneurship or strategy.
- Have good English writing and communication skills.
- Ideally have experience of data analysis and statistics.
- Preferred candidates will have post-doctoral experience of research, and current publications in the above or related fields. Some experience of living or working in China would also be beneficial, but not essential.
The posts are for 2-3 years, annual salary circa 400,000 CNY with additional benefits.[ii]
