Courses include but are not limited to: The Conflict Management Profession (CNCM 504), Approaches to Managing Conflict (CNCM 508), Negotiation: Theory and Practice (CNCM 513), and Ethnic and Cultural Factors in Conflict (CNCM 740).

Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment in the Conflict Management field, broadly construed to include conflict analysis and resolution, conflict transformation, peace and conflict studies, peace education, or a similar course of study. Applicants with degrees in related fields appropriate to the Conflict Management discipline (e.g., political science, international relations, public administration, public policy, and allied social science disciplines) with expertise in the above-mentioned areas are also encouraged to apply. Diverse methodological and/or geographic expertise, whether domestic or international, will be considered. Candidates should have a record of scholarly activities appropriate to the rank of appointment (tenure-track Assistant Professor or Professor of Practice) and demonstrate capacity for quality university instruction and service to the profession and the university.

The successful candidate will be joining a well-established graduate program in Negotiations and Conflict Management, an applied, cross-disciplinary M.S. program in the School of Public and International Affairs. The program is designed to expose students to conflict resolution in a variety of settings from the interpersonal to the international. The program's 36-credit curriculum is delivered through a series of applied courses that enable students to examine links between conflict management theory and practice and prepares them for post-graduate success in a variety of settings in which conflict management skills are needed.
