    Elsevier is now seeking candidates for the position of Editor in Chief for its journal Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes (OBHDP). The Editor in Chief's primary responsibilities will include coordinating the Editorial Team (Associate Editors and Editorial Board Members) and working directly with journal management, contributing to the strategy and mission of the journal, evaluating all submissions to determine suitability, and supporting the Editorial Team in all aspects of the review process. Appointment as the Editor in Chief will begin on January 1, 2024. Applications are due by March 31 2023.

    Mission: OBHDP publishes fundamental research in organizational behavior, organizational psychology and human cognition, judgment and decision-making. The journal features articles that present original empirical research, theory development, meta-analysis, and methodological advancements relevant to the substantive domains served by the journal.

    Qualifications: Key qualities sought for the position of the Editor in Chief include a record of scholarship conducting original research in topics relevant to the field of organizational psychology; editorial experience and organizational skills to oversee the editorial process and meet deadlines; ability to work effectively with the Associate Editors, Editorial Board, reviewers, authors, and others involved in the publication process; and exemplary written and oral communication skills. The ability to formulate and articulate a compelling vision for the journal is also essential. The Editor in Chief is expected to have sufficient time and resources to devote to editorial duties. It is critical that the Editor in Chief has a history of publishing in OBHDP, prior involvement in the review process, and familiarity with the journal. Such involvement can take the form of publications in and reviews for OBHDP.

    Responsibilities: Major responsibilities of the Editor in Chief include advancing the journal's mission and strategy; developing and coordinating an active, diverse, and well-qualified Editorial Board; maintaining the timeliness and quality of the review process with the aid of Associate Editors; recruiting sufficiently high quality manuscripts to generate impact on research and practice; working with the Editorial Team and Elsevier management to refine or set policies regarding the journal (e.g., orchestrating procedures for soliciting manuscripts and proposals for special issues in areas of high need); and, strengthening OBHDP's reputation as a high-quality journal. The Editor in Chief will also convene and lead an annual meeting of the editorial board.

    Application process:  Applications should include a current vita, and a 3-5 page statement expressing interest, summarizing qualifications, presenting a vision for the journal and indicating feasibility for service with respect to institutional support for devoting time and resources to editorial duties.
